How to Choose the Best Trail Saddle for Long Rides

Western seats run about 1.5 to 2 inches smaller than English seats. Measure from the back of the swell to the top of the cantle; our western saddle size chart shows which seat suits your build.

Most adults ride in a 15" or 16" western seat. Barrel riders usually choose 13" to 15" for a snug fit, and trail riders often size up half an inch for comfort.
